3. Two fold application
-First- it is unthinkable that anyone should be tempted to go back to the old
-Secondly- the Christian is encouraged to enter into the fullness of the experience which God desires him to have

4.Things to look for
-13 times the adjective better is used contrasting the New Way based on Christ with the Old order of things
-God has chosen to make Himself known, God is personal and is capable of knowing and being known
-God allows himself to be known by revealing Himself

5.Who is the Author
-No one knows
-Some suggest Paul
-This book writings is not consistent with Paul's way of writing

6. Lets Start
Hebrews 1:1-2 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.(NlV)

7. In, through the prophets
-God was in possession of these men
'2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.(NlV)

8. Hebrews 1:2-3 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God ls glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. O To know Christ is to know God
-Jesus is God thrown on the scene of human life

14.After he had provided purification for sins
-The author will develop the point that Jesus through Himself has provided access to God by dealing with sin in a way not possible in the Old Covenant 15       He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven
-Why is this so important?

-The O.T. priest stood during the sacrificial service
 -Right hand — place of honor
