October 20th Worship Service

Oct 20, 2024    Rev. Steve Johnson

At Bradley Baptist Church, we explored the profound lessons from the story of a man carrying a jar of water in Luke 22:7-13. This seemingly small detail in the Bible reveals significant themes of divine appointments, humility, and the courage to stand out for Christ. Divine appointments are moments orchestrated by God for us to encounter Him in a special way, as seen in the stories of the Woman at the Well, Paul on the Road to Damascus, and Philip and the Ethiopian. The man carrying the water jar exemplifies humility by stepping out of his societal role and obeying God. This act teaches us that humility often involves stepping out of our comfort zones. Additionally, we are encouraged to have the courage to stand out for Christ, as Romans 1:16 reminds us not to be ashamed of the gospel. As we go about our week, let's embrace divine appointments, practice humility, and boldly live out our faith.
