July 12th Worship Service

Onesiphorus is one of the least-known names in the Bible, but his life carries one of the most practical lessons in all of Scripture. Found in just a few verses in 2 Timothy, he modeled three qualities every believer should pursue: consistent encouragement, unashamed faith, and relentless perseverance. When Paul was imprisoned in a dungeon and facing execution, Onesiphorus searched the entire city of Rome until he found him, simply to refresh and stand by his friend. He was not embarrassed to be associated with Paul's chains, because he believed what Paul believed. His example challenges us to ask who in our lives needs us to show up right now, and whether we are willing to stay until we find them. The faith of one person, lived out faithfully, has the power to change lives for eternity.
